Prior to Laureen’s tenure, Solar Energy World’s marketing communications were fairly generic, showing little differentiation between it and its competitors. Utilizing psychographic research to inform the creative, Laureen revamped the company’s brand as well as improving the quality of advertising campaigns to appeal to target audiences on a deeper level. Combining this creative strategy with lead-generation tactics worked to help grow the company from a local solar panel installation company in 2012, to a regional player in the industry by 2021.

New Brand Development for Financial Product
When Solar Energy World’s Solar PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) option became available, SEW needed a creative strategy that would differentiate its Solar PPA from its competitors’. It had to communicate its primary benefit of locking in a lower electricity rate than utilities’ rates in a way that would be quickly and easily understood by consumers who were not solar savvy and were unfamiliar with how PPAs work. So, Laureen Peck developed a new brand for the financial option, named it RateGuardian, developed a new logo, customized url, mascot, home show displays and more. The program helped to generate new leads and to make it easier to close sales from prospective customers.
